As the Council confirmed a new Education Commissioner, Wheeler made a point of getting the school choice record into the room.
Executive Councilor David Wheeler, R-Milford, said he wanted to take a minute to thank Edelblut for his “innovative approaches” to education and expanding Freedom Education Accounts.

He thanked Frank Edelblut for expanding Education Freedom Accounts, the program that lets a parent take their child’s share of the funding to whatever school actually works for that child.
Money follows the student and parents decide. Wheeler has backed that principle at every stage, and he used a confirmation hearing to say so when he could have said nothing at all.
