District 5 sent Dave Wheeler back to the Executive Council, and Republicans took a 4-1 majority.
With 91 percent of the vote in, David Wheeler of Milford, the Republican incumbent for District 5 appeared to have won over former state Senator Melanie Levesque, a Democrat.

Wheeler beat Democrat Melanie Levesque across a district that runs from Nashua and Hudson through Milford and Peterborough out to Swanzey and Richmond. It takes in mill cities, farm towns and everything between.
Voters there have hired him more than any other councilor in New Hampshire has been hired. They have done it on a record anyone can look up, one contract at a time.
