Kelly Ayotte, former US Senator and NH Attorney General, announced her endorsement of Dave Wheeler for Executive Council in the District 5 Republican Primary. When Ayotte served as the legal counsel to Governor Craig Benson, Deputy Attorney General and then as Attorney General, she worked with Dave Wheeler on the Executive Council. As Attorney General, Ayotte defended NH’s parental notification law and personally argued the case against Planned Parenthood in front of the United States Supreme Court over the objections of Democrat, Governor John Lynch.
On her endorsement of Wheeler, Ayotte said:
“I had the opportunity to work with Dave Wheeler when he previously served as Executive Councilor and he is a straightforward, principled conservative who is focused on doing the right thing for the people of New Hampshire. He is a rare find in politics, he is his own man and will do what he thinks is right no matter how the political winds are blowing. As a native of Nashua and resident of District 5, I am proud to vote for Dave and I hope my fellow Republicans will join me on September 8 and November 3 in sending Dave Wheeler back to the Executive Council.”
